My boys spent many years on a trampoline and tumbling gymnastics team, and everyone at the gym would practice in their bare feet. It seemed like they had permanent warts on the bottom of their feet, and no matter what we tried, they just wouldn’t go away.
There are a number of different remedies including tea tree oil, over-the-counter topical solution, even duck tape… and it seems that all that happens is the skin around the wart gets really irritated but the wart itself never really goes away. When I was a pediatric triage nurse our “go-to” remedy was duck tape, and although it would typically work, it was somewhat cumbersome for parents to get their kids to buy in to taping their feet with duck tape. And in the summertime, when the kiddos walk around in bare feet, duck tape iis the last thing on their mind!
Warts are typically caused by a localized viral infection. There is a combination remedy that has worked quite well for many clients and patients.
The remedy has 2 components:
1. Lysine – Arm the body specifically to fight viral infection better with 1000mg of the amino acid lysine taken once or twice a day on an empty stomach (this works well for people who have recurring herpes virus manifestations as well).
2. Frankincense and Cypress essential oils – At night, mix 5 drops cypress and 5 drops frankincense in 1 tsp apple cider vinegar. Soak a piece of gauze in this, apply to skin, and wrap well to stabilize it and prevent leakage. During the day, you may apply a drop or two of frankincense oil directly to the wart (once or twice during the day). Continue until it’s gone. Just make sure you choose a high-quality essential oil, one that is verified as solvent-free.
If you or someone you know suffers from stubborn warts, you may consider giving this remedy a try!
